Welcome to the award winning chef-owned and managed Harbour Restaurant. We are located in the heart of picturesque Donegal Town and situated on the edge of The Wild Atlantic Way.
This restaurant is a "go to" food destination for both locals and visitors and is a recent winner of Best Casual Dining in Donegal at The Irish Restaurant Awards and recipients of the prestigious McKennas Guides “Best in Ireland 2015” Award.
Sitting opposite Donegal Bay, the restaurant looks out upon the rolling swells of the Atlantic as they sweep in to meet the mouth of the river Eske. Formerly a traditional family home dating back over 150 years, it was transformed into The Harbour Restaurant in the early 1990’s. It still retains the original hand-cut stone walls which as you can imagine could tell many a good “scéal” or two…
We are fortunate to be nestled at the foothills of The Bluestack Mountains and at the edge of The Atlantic, giving us a unique opportunity to offer some of the very best natural ingredients from freshly caught fish and shellfish off the boats from the ports of Inver, Killybegs and Burtonport, our Aubrac Beef and Donegal Mountain Lamb farmed in and around the local village of Ballintra, from a family of third generation butchers, Eddie Walsh & Sons.
Our fully licensed bar provides a wide range of wines, spirits, Donegal craft beers and internationally branded beers. Our cocktails and liqueur coffees are the perfect match to complement our mouth-watering home-made desserts.
